This oldest luxury train, the Palace on Wheels Train is motivated by the times when luxury was synonymous to living. The legends tells many royal experiences about this royal palace on the move.
The carriages were adorned with rich furniture and traditional décor to accommodate the royal feel in the train. Originally used as desired transportation of the rulers of Rajputana, these royal coaches are now a proud carrier of Palace on Wheels daunting legacy.

You will be welcomed like King and Queen with a royal welcome by garlanding, Tilak and turban with glass of wine. Delhi, the capital city of modern India is known for its rich noble and fused history. Once the renowned city of the heroes of the Mahabharata and ruled by the Rajputs before they were expatriate by foreign invaders. The journey starts in the evening with a traditional welcome aboard the Palace on Wheels at Safdarjung New Delhi. You will be introduced to your fellow travellers. Feel free to discover your new Palace, and familiarise yourself with its various facilities. Relax with a drink at the bar. Dinner will be served on-board in its two restaurants.
Highlights of Day 1 - Acquaint yourself with the train on the first day with Wine and Dine on the Palace on Wheels

Dinner will be served on-board in its two restaurants.Your journey began at the Hawa Mahal which is also known as Palace of Wind, followed by the amazing Jantar Mantar-Astronomical Observatory. Then we will visit the city palace is now a museum of full royal splendour. Jaipur also offers a great shopping experience famous for handlooms, jewellery since the city is the country’s capital as far as handicrafts are concerned.
This includes a very extensive range as well as a major International centre of cutting and polishing of gems and stone. Also, Jaipur is world famous for hand block printing on textiles. Lunch at Amber Fort. Soon after reaching at Amber, you can enjoy the festively decorated elephant for a ride up to the fort. After lunch, visit of Amber fort the best example of impressive fusion of Rajput and Mugal style of Architecture.
The hall of victory, Jai Mandir has a marvellous ceiling finished with mirror work an inlaid panel. Return back to train by bus and freshen up. After taking some rest enjoy delicious dinner on-board.
Highlights of Day 2 feature – Welcome at Jaipur, the pink city known for its amazing architecture and splendid monuments. You will enjoy Elephant Ride to reach Amber Fort which is another attraction of the day besides the mouth-watering lunch in this famous fort complex.
Chittaurgarh - Arrival 4.00 PM Departure 2.00 AM
The Ranthambhore National Park at junction of the Aravalis and the Vindhyas is a unique association of natural and historical richness, standing out noticeably in the vast, arid and bare tract of eastern Rajasthan, barely 14 Kms from Sawai Madhopur.
Thousand year old Ranthambhore Fort of great historical importance atop a high hill stand tall remain of the historical part cenotaphs, tombs, stepped well, summer palace etc., have all merged pleasantly in to the sprawling forest.
Three big lakes- Padam Talav, Malik Talav and Raj Bag- are alike turquoises studded in the vast tract. Though a delicate eco system, Ranthambhore is dynamic in the diversity and density of fauna it supports. Here you will spot big cats, along with tigers you may have opportunity to see 24 different species of mammals, wild boar, Indian Gazel, spotted deer, sambhar, Jungle cat, Panthers, Jackal, Hynas Rarely sloth bears, also almost 300 different kind of birds.
Highlights of wild morning of Day 3 will feature Jungle Safari in Ranthambhore National Park. Return back to Palace on Wheels. Enjoy Breakfast and lunch on-board.
Enjoy the afternoon on train as it travels the lush green country side before arriving to Chittorgarh. Arrival 4.00 PM Departure 2.00 AM Chittorgarh Fort is one of the largest fort of India, built by various Mauriyan rulers during 5th to 8th century period, most of the structures inside the fort premises are in ruins. But a sights at this giant abodes of Rajput still fills on with thrill. The fort is accessible after ceremony seven gates. Rana Kumbha palace and Padamini Palace in the fort are considered as master pieces of Rajput architecture and the Padmini Palace had been the residence of beautiful queen Rani Padmini.

The capital of the Sisodia Maharanas, spend the day in doing sightseeing of Udaipur. Maharana Udai Singh laid the foundation for a new kingdom, which was named on him. Udaipur, is a beautiful city situated at Lake Pichola is an impressive city of palaces conferred with architectural and artistic aesthetics including amazing miniature paintings.
Subsequently, the princes built the magnificent Floating Island Palace, the real summer retreat, offering a marvellous view of the lake and surrounding mountains.
Visit to Crystal Gallery- It is a balcony of Fateh Prakash Banquet hall which is proud owner of a museum of crystal glass furniture, crockery, chandeliers of old time.
Highlights of Day 4 include delicious Lunch at Palace Hotel. The day proceeds with an amazing visit to Crystal Palace, famous for crystal crockery, furnishings and antique chandeliers. Boat Ride on Lake Pichola in Udaipur is another best thing to do.
The golden city of Rajasthan, Jaisalmer was founded by Rawal Jaisal, a Bhati Rajput ruler in 1156 AD. The western most stronghold of the desert, Jaisalmer has a beautiful ancient history attached with its development as a trading centre. Located en-route one of the two passages that connected India with Persia, Egypt Africa and West, Jaisalmer is soaked in golden history of the past. The Sonar Qila Fort, made up of marvellous yellow sand stone will immediately catch your attention here.
Patwon Ki Haveli and Nathmalgi Ke Haveli, Salim Singh Ji Ki Haveli are some of the most attractive Havelis having striking architecture with a fine blend of ancient and the medieval era. Shopping and lunch at Moomal Hotel. At the shining sand dunes, enjoy the romantic evening at Kuldhara and your camel will take you deep in the Thar Desert, which is the most awaited experience. Enjoy cultural performance with campfire and then have dinner in dunes.
Day 5 highlights will take you deep into the Thar Desert through Camel Safari or Jeep Safari in the golden deserts of Jaisalmer.
On this day you will relish tasty Rajasthani Food with traditional music at a 5 star hotel. Evening Tea will be served with the sunset. Enjoy delicious dinner at the Palace Hotel.
In winters, you can enjoy the cultural performance and traditional campfire with dinner in the dune camps.
Arrival 7.00 AM Departure 3.30 PM
Receive warm welcome on arrival and enjoy sightseeing of mighty fort followed by lunch at Star hotel.
The city also known as blue city as you will most of the buildings and houses painted in blue colour, Jodhpur is the former capital of the Marwar. Visit Mehrangarh Fort which was built by Rao Jodha in 1459 is situated 120 meters high rocky hill, this fort is witness the lavish and royal history of Rathore. Umaid Vilas have beautiful Rajput miniature paintings and the Ajit Vilas has musical instruments and the royal costumes on display.
Umaid Bhawan Palace is the world’s finest and largest palace which has around 347 rooms that boast about its grandness and splendour. The royal family in still lives a part of the palace also having the old clock museum.

Bharatpur, a royal kingdom which is ruled by the Jats, rather than the Rajputs. Bharatpur's Jat history is not too old, with Suraj Mal stronghold in a region disputed by both the Rajputs and the Mughals. Suraj Mal activities are legendary, and the fort, Lohargarh, or Iron Fort, has a history that tells it with pride.
The Keoladeo Ghana National Park is one of the finest bird sanctuary in the world which was developed by a royal law when dykes were created so that water could be channelled for the hunting preserve as the Maharaja of Bharatpur wished to create.
